Program overview:

The Skills for Growth Program will provide an independent workforce and training specialist who will work with you – free of charge - to identify your business goals and the employee skills required to achieve them.

In consultation with you, the specialist will develop a Workforce Development Plan for your business that will highlight the best vocational training and skill development options for your employees.

The specialist will work around your busy schedule and visit your premises at a time that suits you.  By investing a small amount of your time, you will be provided with a plan to deliver measureable improvements to your business.

When you decide to enrol your staff in training, the specialist will help you get started and do the ‘running around’ for you. They will also provide advice about whether your employees are entitled to government subsidised training via the Victorian Training Guarantee.
 

The benefits of skills-based training include:

• Increasing the efficiency of your workforce through improved skills;

• Developing and applying expertise across your business, products and services; and
• Providing your employees with the skills to improve workplace practices and procedures.

To be eligible, your business must:

• be based in Victoria
• employ between 1 to 200 staff
• have been in operation for at least 12 months; and
• be financially viable.
